Sooo, before I left for my cruise, a quilting friend called me and suggested I put the three quilts I had in our show in March into the Jacksonville Quilt Show that was being held mid-September. A large show with entries from all over. She said she was entering as well and she was going to be going up to St. Augustine to drop them off and would pick them up as well. Since I wouldn't have to mail them, it was much more appealing to me than taking a chance on shipping them. There was a $15 entry fee per quilt, which I thought was quite reasonable for such a large show. There were also monetary prizes given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Well guess what? My Kylie's Kite Quilt won First Place for Small Quilts ($300 prize and a blue ribbon), and my Savannah Quilt won an honorable mention for Miniature Quilts (a pretty yellow ribbon)!

I am a retired 60-year old widow with two lovely, grown daughters. I am also blessed with a wonderful teenaged grandson, and two beautiful step-granddaughters, or granddaughters-in-love, as I choose to view it. *Grin* Happily, we all reside in Florida within 30 minutes of one another.
I also have an energetic Yorkshire Terrier/Bichon Frise mix, Tasha. I don't know what I would do without her. She brings me constant joy.
